Can I suggest you turn off cursed & tagged mechanic for the wipe. Besides the fact that there is nothing "realistic" about NPCs being psychic about your position and rushing towards you haphazardly, it's going to be a real problem doing early tasks with no gear & an army of scavs trying to kill you. There's a lot of randomization going on, so that you can get Tarkov'ed by a buckshot from 100m away without any warning or have 5 seconds to carefully aim amd target or have a scav missing you from 5 metres away. Lately, AI reaction times seem to have been shorter and aim better. So, it's understandable that you're surprised.

You need 1 piece of gear (rig, backpack) and 1 weapon and your melee doesn't count to not be tagged and cursed. Seems like it's about the rig only in my experience.
